Location

As meeting attendees have seen by now, we try to locate our annual summer meeting for the most beautiful areas of Hungary. So far, we have visited the Bakony Mountains, highlands of Balaton, been at the Bodrogköz, the Bükk, around lake Fertő in Mecsek or in the Pilis mountains - with a lot of memories and success. This year our choice is the area of Lake Tisza. We chose the Fűzfa recreational park located near the town of Poroszló for the location of our meetings and meeting programme.

Extract from the town introduction written by the mayor of Poroszló:

"Our settlement is on the east side of Lake Tisza. Being one of the larger towns by the Road 33, it is the primary entry point for guests visiting the Lake. The lake measures 127km2, of which 60% is dry or rushy. Our settlement is responsible for 55% of the administrative area for the lake. Our accomodations are of high quality, and meet today's expectations. Our Restaurant personnel is kind, work for you with their full attention.

Our town prefers the nature tourism, but also allows a small number of motored boats, which can be kept in our docks. Wild water life is excellent for fishing, hunting, water activities by the beach but we also offer entertainment for those prefer the land. Our beatiful area is perfect for cycling, horse riding, sightseeing tours and we also host an ongoing exhibition of Local art. Poroszló is not just for watersports: the natural surroundings are excellent for birdsighting. We have rare species nesting in the area, such as the blue falcon, brown hawk, coot or cormorant. We offer water tours of several kind: for those preferring the silent, slow and observative tours, we recommend kenu-tours, so that they can appreciate the natural beauty our reservoir has to offer. The water reflections, the water lily and its flowers will be the best memories of our visitors."
